Study Turkish in Istanbul

A lot of schools are located in Taksim, the cultural, trade entertainment center of Istanbul. Lessons are taught according to international modern language teaching standards. Classes are taught by well educated, experienced teachers who are both young and dynamic. Classes have a maximum of 14 student so that the teacher is able to maximize attention for all the students. Active participation is always encouraged.

All classrooms are air conditioned andvhave high-qualified modern educational equipments. The students who finish basic, intermediate and advanced levels are given certificates that are confirmed by the Ministry of Education.

Study Turkish in Antalya

Antalya, city on the Mediterranean coast of south-western Turkey, is the Turkish capital of international tourism. Situated by the Gulf of Antalya, the city of Antalya can be traced back in history as early as the 1st century BC when, as the legend has it, upon discovering this land, king Attalos II told his men that “this must be Heaven”.

Today, people who come here from all corners of the world say that only after seeing a sunset at Antalya can one say they have seen everything a man is allowed to see in a lifetime.

The city of Antalya seems to have taken in all of Turkey’s cultural and historic past so well preserved and sealed by the traditional archaeology of the mosques, churches, madrasahs and hamams which stood the ruthless test of time. The historical part of the city, Kaleiçi, is also the most beautiful area of the city.

Antalya also boasts golden beaches (Konyaalti and Lara) and foaming milky waterfalls (Düden, Manavgat) which are two big attractions added to the long list of reasons why people choose this vacation destination for the first time or to return.

Most schools are located in city centre of Antalya and have computer access and a libraries. Teachers are native speakers and have specialised degrees and experience in teaching. Class sizes have a maximum of 8 students. Classrooms are comfortable with air-conditioning. At the end of the course, all students are given certificates.

Courses

On the first day, all students will take a test to help determine the appropriate group and level of each student. Schools sometimes run courses of six different levels.

Intensive Course-Four Week Program
This course consists of 5 classes daily, 3 grammar and 2 practical classes. The activities and exercises focus on the development of oral and written skills based on real language communications. This course allows students to improve their oral skills and reach a higher level of linguistic competence in a shorter time.

General Course-Eight Week Program
This course consists of 4 classes three days per week(2 grammar and 2 practical lessons). Its main aim is to ensure that pupils get fully involved in the life of the city and has the guarantee of excellent service and a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. It is ideal if you wish to develop your language skills further. Levels: All Dates of commencement, Minimum Length: 8 weeks

Teaching Method
The teaching method combines the usual study of grammar with debates, talks, role-playing situations, practical classes, etc. The classes, with a maximum of seven students each, are conducted entirely in Turkish from the very first day and guarantee not only an increased command of the Turkish language but also happiness and cordiality. Schools believe that a friendly atmosphere and teaching with a smile have as big a part to play in the classroom as the exercise books the students use.

To help attain objectives, schools usually employ a group of young teachers who have, nonetheless many years teaching experience and who use teaching methods which are constantly being revised. This is to ensure that pupils are always taught in accordance with the most recent developments concerning theTurkish language and the practical aspects related to it.

Activities

Social Activities
Social and cultural activities play an important role in addition to contemporary education. Throughout these social activities, students become acquainted with Turkey, make new friends and practice their knowledge of the Turkish language outside the classroom.

Students from all over the world have the opportunity to meet each other during introduction parties, trips and farewell evenings. They also have the opportunity of practicing the language they have been learning during “out-of-class” activities. In summer, these parties take place on a boat tour of the Bosphorus.

Schools offer sightseeing tours of Turkey throughout every course period during the year, to help students become acquainted with Istanbul. These tours include many famous places, such as Anadolu Kavagi, Eyüp Mosque, Kariye Museum and Camlica Hill on both European and Asian sides of Istanbul. It is recommended that all students should see these places. Sightseeing tours are between 9.00a.m. and 7.00p.m. The transport fees are included.

In the months of July and August (and also in June and September, weather permitting) you could go swimming to Sile, Kilyos, Riva, Agva, which are all on the boundary of Istanbul, and also the Islands of the Marmara Sea. Usually you will set off at 9.00 a.m on Friday from the school and return back at 7.00-7.30 p.m. Transport fees included.

Students have many opportunities to become involved in sporting activities. Tournaments and championships in sports such as tennis, volleyball and football are sometimes held.

Hiking trips take place every month in a city near Istanbul, if there are enough participants. Experienced tour companies organize these functions. There is a small charge for these trips.

 

Accommodation

While you can organize your own accommodation, schools can help students in contacting landlords and hotels to find single and double rooms. Upon registering for the course, you’ll be sent a contact sheet with suggested hotels, hostels and apartment owners to facilitate arranging housing before arrival. Housing for one month generally ranges from 400 to 600 euros per month.
