If you are interested in studying abroad and wondering if celebrities do the same, the answer is yes!
If you are considering studying abroad in England, you might get a few classes where Harry Potter star Emma Watson studied!
It was in 2009, Watson announced that she’d chosen to study in the USA and attend Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. But in her third year she decided to keep her British accent fluent by choosing to study abroad at Oxford University.
“Studying abroad” for Watson though, is a bit different. She was born in England, and went to school at Brown in the United States.
Her choice to study abroad in England gives her a chance to stay current with her studies, as well as spend some time with her family after the crazed release of the last instalment of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.
At a press conference for the movie, she said, “I’m going to Oxford in the fall, to study English for a year. Just to explain, I haven’t left Brown. I’m still enrolled at Brown, but I’m doing my third year abroad to study at home.”
Watson’s choice to study abroad at Oxford University is one of the many study abroad students can choose from.
Oxford is actually outside of London, and many study abroad participants appreciate the option of going to school inside London, due to the class choices, cultural diversity, and amount of extra-curricular activities.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 was released in the US on Friday, July 15th, 2011 and Emma graduated from Brown University with a bachelor’s degree in English literature in May 2014.
