Classes

Spanish courses take place all year round and the schools are always open. The average class size is 5-8 students. Usually you will take an oral and written placement test on the first Monday after arrival in order to be placed at the appropriate level. Upon completion of the testing process, the course begins immediately.

Classes are based on the linguistic, pragmatic, and functional aspects of language along with the socio-cultural elements of the Spanish way of life. You can take around 12, 22, or 30 lessons per week. Lessons last 55 minutes. Some afternoons are devoted to learning more about Spanish culture, an integral component of experiencing life abroad.

On most courses, you will study the four basic language skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening), emphasizing grammatical structure. In order to broaden your general perspective, schools also offer the opportunity to study many different aspects of the Spanish culture including History, Art, Civilization, Literature, Cinema, etc.

Part-time course: 10 + 5* lessons per week

Intensive+ course: 20 + 5* lessons per week

One-on-One Private Lessons
This program is designed to offer a fully personalized method of instruction according to the student’s specific needs and desires. Because classes are private, you can determine your schedule and course content. The minimum amount of instruction for this course is 10 hours per week. Each lesson is 55 minutes.

This course is ideal for students who require intensive Spanish lessons within a short period of time. The program offers individualized study in grammar, speaking, listening, reading, writing, and vocabulary. If you provide adequate notice before classes begin, you can request to study any particular topic of interest.

Travel Spanish Courses
Students studying for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks can take courses in any of the seven schools in Spain (Almuecar, Barcelona, Granada, Madrid, Marbella, Salamanca, & Valencia) and receive the same outstanding quality, methodology, and service. You may choose your preferred combination of cities/schools before leaving home to “study and vacation” in Spain. Substantial discounts are offered. Classes start every Monday throughout the year for all skill levels.

Specialized Courses
In addition to standard language courses, some schools also offer Specialized Courses in areas of interest such as healthcare, business, law, and more. Specialized courses are taught in Spanish with two goals in mind: to impart new knowledge in the students’ area of interest, and to improve their Spanish. All specialized courses are taught in private lessons and are charged at the regular private-lesson rate.

Business Spanish
This program is for students who have already reached an intermediate level of Spanish (i.e. they can express themselves clearly and easily in everyday situations). The course is aimed at students and business professionals who want to improve their general Spanish ability and who want to study a particular business-related topic in Spanish.

Schools can customize the program to your field of interest: Commercial Relationships; Banks & Financial Operations; Marketing/Advertising; International Trade; Stock Market; Tourism; Spanish Labor Market; Tax Legislation; and more.

These two courses are designed for sports lovers who want to learn or improve their Spanish skills while simultaneously improving their tennis or golf games. Classes take place in Marbella, on one of the sunniest and most incredible coasts in Europe. The course includes 22 Spanish lessons per week and 10 golf or tennis lessons per week at one of the best golf and tennis schools in Spain.

Spanish for Seniors
This program is designed for people fifty years of age or older who want to learn Spanish or improve their current level of Spanish. At the same time, students will learn more about Spain’s Art and Culture. This course is available in cities like Alicante, Marbella, Madrid, Salamanca, and Valencia. The program offers several cultural activities and excursions to enhance the learning experience.

Language Levels

There are 5 different levels of Spanish, sub-divided into 3 groups containing a higher, medium, and lower level, with the exception of the Proficiency level.

Level 1 –Basic (beginner):
This course is for those students who are learning Spanish for the first time. By the end of the course, students will be able to form some of the basic structures in Spanish and will have a basic knowledge of the Spanish culture and society.

Level 2 – Elementary:
This course is for those students who already have knowledge of some of the basic Spanish structures. By the end of the program, students will have increased their level of grammar and vocabulary so they can express themselves effectively in different contexts. They will also have a greater awareness of Spanish culture and society.

Level 3 & 4 – Intermediate I & II:
This course is for students with good vocabulary and a general command of the more complex structures in the Spanish language. By the end of the course, students will be able to use their Spanish more fluently and will have a greater comprehension of the Spanish way of life. The course attempts to improve the student’s understanding of the linguistic and extra-linguistic structures in Spanish so he/she can communicate more effectively.

Level 5 – Advanced:
This course is for students who can already effectively communicate in Spanish. By the end of the course, students will have wider knowledge of the Spanish culture and will be more proficient in expressing their ideas at an abstract level.

Activities and Excursions

Excursions and cultural visits are a very important part of the learning process. These activities allow students to understand in more detail Spain’s rich, varied culture and rooted traditions.

This is why schools organize visits to museums, churches, and historical areas in Madrid, Barcelona, Marbella, Salamanca, Valencia, Granada, Alicante and Almuñecar. These visits are usually free of charge. Students receive each month’s program of cultural activities and an informative folder on the first day of class, indicating the dates of the excursions and if there are any fees to be paid by the students.

During the week, activities are held in the afternoon or in the evening. On Saturdays and Sundays, students can go on day or weekend trips organized and guided by our teachers.
